Buying

Buy:

To purchase an item click the buy button on the product listing page, review and confirm your purchase by clicking the Confirm Purchase button on the order confirmation page.

Make Offer:

To make an offer click the Make Offer button on the product listing page.

Make your Best Offer at the maximum you are willing to pay for the item, enter only numerals and the decimal point. Do not use currency symbols such as a dollar sign $ or commas ,

Review and confirm your offer by clicking the Confirm Offer button on the confirmation page.

Offer expiration date:

This is the day the offer will expire. If the seller does not accept, counter or decline the offer within the allotted time, the offer expires. Once the offer expires, you're no longer required to purchase the item.

Making an offer private:

Choosing to make the offer private, allows only the seller to view your offer price. This will hide your offer on the view history page.

Counter offer:

Example: David (buyer) makes an offer for $9.00 on a set of coins, offer set to expire in 7 days; Mary (seller) receives the offer and gives David a counter offer of $9.50, offer set to expire in 3 days. The original offer is dead, despite the longer expiration time. David then can choose to accept at $9.50, counter again at some compromise price, decline the counter offer, or let it expire.

Shipping:

Shipping details are stated on the product listing page.

Some sellers offer discounts when you buy more than one item, these discounts are defined on the product listing page. Combined item discounts are specified in the sellers store.

Payment:

Sellers accept different payment methods. Please decide whether you're comfortable with the accepted payment method prior to making an offer or clicking the buy button.

Sellers have the option of accepting Amazon Payments, Paypal, Google Checkout, money orders or other. If the seller accepts Amazon Payments, PayPal or Google Checkout, you will have the option of paying using one of these methods after confirming your order.

You may also pay using Amazon Payments, Paypal or Google Checkout through an invoice sent by the seller.

Questions:

To ask the seller a question click the "Ask Question!" link on the product listing page.

View History:

You may notice a View History! link on the product listing page, clicking the view history link will open a page containing the history of the item you're looking at. Purchases, offers, counter offers and declined offers are recorded onto this page. In some cases you may notice the history marked as private, this means the buyer decided to keep their offer private by allowing only the seller to view the offer price and question history.

Convert Currency:

This option is to be used as reference. Actual exchange rates may vary. All purchases and\or offers are to be made in the US dollar currency.

Selling

Who is eligible to sell on offeritem.com?

Anyone 18 years of age or older.

Do I have to live in the United States to sell on offeritem.com?

No, we are currently accepting US (including Puerto Rico, US Minor Outlying Islands and Virgin Islands), Canada, Austria, Australia, United Kingdom (Great Britain) and New Zealand seller accounts!

Do my items have to be new?

You may sell new or used items but we ask that you clearly specify the condition of your item.

Do I have to accept offers?

Accepting an offer is up to you but we recommend participating. If the offer you receive doesn't meet your expectations, please counter or decline the offer.

What are my options when receiving an offer?

You may accept the offer if the offer price is to your liking. You may choose to counter or decline the offer if you're unhappy with the offer price.

How many images can I upload into my listing?

You may upload up to 7 images. The first image is free and each additional image currently costs US $0.00 per image.

Do I have to resize my images myself? I don't know how to do this myself.

Images are resized automatically when you upload them.

What will be the size of my images after upload?

600px X 600px

I'm intersted in selling on Offeritem but I feel it's too much work having to list my items:

We know how you feel, this is why we added a sell similar feature. Just list one item and use it as a template and make only necessary changes.

Ebay importer, so how does it work?

You must first give us authorization to make Ebay calls on your behalf by going to: My Account > My Selling > Setup Ebay Import, this entire process should take no more than 10 minutes. After giving us authorization, we can begin automatically importing your item(s) in bulk from Ebay.

I've noticed that some sellers have images of themselves or store logos, how do I set this up?

You may add an image and intoduce yourself to the Offeritem communtiy by going to My Account > My Public Profile > Edit My Profile.

Other sites charge their sellers money and allow advertisements on their site, will Offeritem do this?

At this time we're not accepting banner ads. If we decide to accept banner ads at a later time, we will do our best to keep ads from interfering with product listings.

What payment types can I accept?

You may accept Amazon Payments, Google Checkout, Paypal and Money Orders, For more details, please visit  this page

Restricted Items:

Prohibited or regulated by law, harmful, fireworks, radioactive waste or materials, freon and similar refrigerants, prohibited by law or regulated or harmful.

I like that Ebay and Amazon have a checkout feature for Paypal and Amazon Payments, respectively. What about offeritem.com?

We've created a checkout process that requires no work on the part of the seller. After the buyer placed their order, they're automatically redirected to the Amazon Payments, Paypal or the Google Checkout site for the completion of payment.

I want to only ship to the USA. Can I do this?

You are not required to ship outside the USA. When listing your item check the "I will not ship outside the USA" checkbox.

I have 100 identical items do I have to list each one separately?

Please do not list more than 1 identical item. If your seller account contains too many duplicate items, a temporary listing limit may be placed on your account. Listing limitations have been created to improve the buyers shopping experience and end keyword spamming. This is why we strongly recommend sellers to take advantage of the quantity option.

If you have more than one identical item in stock, please enter this quantity amount when listing your item.

I want to list my car, can I do this?

Yes, you may list your car, truck, SUV, boat or motorcycle.

I'm in real estate and have homes and apartments for rent. Can I list these?

Can I provide a service on Offeritem?

You may provide any legal service on Offeritem.

I noticed that Offeritem provides a shopping cart. How does this work?

We understand that some buyers may not be ready to purchase at the moment, the shopping cart enables buyers to add items to this cart and checkout later. This prevents the buyer from having to search for the item all over again. Buyers also have the ability to check out multiple items at once using their shopping cart.

How are Offeritem fees billed?

Do listings expire?

Listings expire when a seller is inactive for 3 or more months.

How do I list an item on offeritem.com?

When listing your item you will notice little question marks next to each input field, these question marks will look like the following image hover your mouse over the question marks for a detailed description of each input field.

Community

Safety:

When buying an item, ask as many questions as possible. We advise that you use secured payment methods, such as Amazon Payments, Paypal or Google Checkout.

If something seems too good to be true, chances are that it is.

The above are just some of the safe trading tips that we recommend. There is no such thing as being too careful, our main goal is the safety of our community. We want offeritem.com to be a pleasant community and we will do what it takes to keep it that way.

We reserve the right to block or terminate your Offeritem account if we feel the saftey of offeritem.com is at risk. This includes but is not limited to the saftey of our members, our sites performance and\or a financial loss to Offeritem.

Password:

Never share your password, not even with the Offeritem staff. Your password should be kept private at all times. We have the ability to change your password if needed but we never see your password.

Password Tips:

Create a password that prevents others from guessing it.

Never use your name, email address, username as a password.

Do not use "password" as your password. Try to make your password harder for others to guess by combining letters and numbers.

Ratings:

Please only leave a negative rating if you feel it is deserved.

Please do not purchase an item in order to leave a rating. It's required that you pay for an item prior to leaving a rating. We reserve the right to terminate any accounts that choose to manipulate the Offeritem rating system.

Trading or selling your rating is prohibited.

Using foul language in your rating is prohibited.

We don't want to control the rating system, we just want to prevent the rating system from being abused.

Guest Book:

We have added the ability for members to sign each others guest books. We have common guest book guidelines. If you feel your actions are out of line, they probably are.

Links to websites offering items which are restricted or prohibited on Offeritem are prohibited.
