LOPROX SOLUTION FOR FUNGAL INFECTIONS, RINGWORMS, ATHLETE’S FOOT, JOCK ITCH,
ANTIMYCOTIC, ANTI ALL FUNGI, FUNGAL NAIL SOLUTION TREATMENT
Loprox is an antifungal medicine used to treat several skin infections including yeast skin infections and fungal infections such as ringworms, athlete’s foot, jock itch and other skin disorders. This medicine may not work well in areas with thick skin like the soles of the feet and the palms of the hands.
Follow the instructions included in the package. Clean and dry the affected area before applying the medicine. Wash your hands with soap and water before applying the solution. Apply the medicine twice a day or as prescribed by your doctor. If possible, do not cover the affected area with a bandage unless told to do so by your doctor.
It will take two weeks or more before you see any improvement. Continue using the medication as prescribed by the doctor even if the symptoms disappear. Stopping the medication before the end of the prescribed period may allow the infection to return. Visit your doctor if there are no signs of improvement after several weeks of treatment.
Some common side effects include redness or stinging, itching and burning sensation on the applied area of the skin. These side effects are temporary and will disappear after a few days of treatment. If any of the side effects continue or become worse, immediately consult your doctor.
Serious side effects, though rare, include rashes, swelling, itching, trouble breathing, and dizziness. If any of these occur, seek immediate medical attention.
Before taking Loprox, tell your doctor if you have allergies to the medicine or other medications. Tell your doctor all the prescribed and non-prescribed medications you are taking to determine if any of the medications will interact with this medication. You must also tell your doctor if you have any fungal skin infections, immune system disorders, fingernails infections and toenail infections.
This medication should only be used by pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers if absolutely necessary. For safety reasons, consultation with a doctor is necessary.
Loprox is a prescribed medication given based on the type of infection you have. Do not use the medication for other skin infections unless you have consulted your doctor. Loprox should not be shared with others even if they have the same type of infection.
While undergoing treatment, you must always clean and dry the affected area of the skin to get the full benefit of the medicine. Avoid wearing shoes or tight leggings on the infected area to avoid the growth of fungus.
After applying the medication, avoid contact with your eyes, nose and ears. Wash your hands thoroughly after application of the medication. Loprox is for external use only and should be stored in a safe place out of children’s reach.
